Caestarstone also are one of the few suppliers in Australia to offer an engineered stone truly suitable for outdoor use. Since 2002, Smartstone engineered surfaces the highest standards of beauty, quality, durability and value. Smartstone also have environmental care and industry responsibility as key attributes their business model.
In 2018 Smartstone began developing a new base formulation which is a more sustainable and responsible engineered surface choice. Launched in 2022, Smartstone NewGen, is a low silica and up to 56% recycled base and was first introduced in their Ibrido range. Most of Smartstone engineered stone, has already been tested and certified to comprise a low silica content. The full Smartstone range will have transitioned to Smartstone NewGen by mid-2023.
All Smartstone NewGen slabs are supported by a Stamp of Authenticity to guarantee a low silica, and up to 56% recycled content.

Established in 2007, YDL Stone offer Brisbane Stone’s best value for money engineered stone without compromising quality.
YDL Stone has now also made the transition to low silica sufaces with their range now containing less than 40% silica making their products substantially safer for fabricators of engineered stone surfaces.
YDL offer a wide range of colours, finishes and sizes which all come in “jumbo slabs” which offer a better yield and therefore stronger value proposition than some competitors.

TrendStone is Brisbane Stone’s choice when it comes to replacing laminate benchtops in existing kitchens. Trendstone already offers great value for money, coming in jumbo slabs to improve the yield and therefore lowering the project’s overall cost but also many slabs are available in a 30mm thickness.
Ordinarily if a client is wanting to replace their existing laminate benchtop (38mm) but not their splashback, their only choice is to step up to a 40mm thick benchtop. Additional cutting and labour is required to create a 40mm benchtop as it is effectively two pieces of 20mm engineered stone laminated together. This process adds significantly to the cost. Creating a 30mm benchtop using TrendStone takes as much time and machining as producing as a 20mm benchtop, meaning significant savings for the client.
At installation the benchtop is installed and if needed is packed up slightly on the underside to close the gap between the splashback and the benchtop to 3-6mm. The gap is then sealed with silicone to the existing splashback as would normally be the case, meaning not only has the client saved on the cost of their beautiful new benchtop but they have also saved themselves the expense of having to get a new splashback as well!

What is most important Is that you have a range of options in mind. This range could either be particular colour or a particular look or a particular brand or that your new engineered stone benchtop has certain properties. Anything that you can do to narrow the scope is going to save you time and frustration. Once you have gone as far as you feel you can, however it is time to get in touch with Brisbane Stone.
